Missed my first day of class. Oops. Bars are my favorite places to learn violin anyway.
Impressions of the first day, amazing but weird.
One of the students, a pianist, is like a genius. Has a French name. Pierre.
Impressed is not a word I could use to describe the place I am going to live and learn my art in the next couple of years.
There was another pianist, too, eccentric. She had pink streaks in her hair. Her name was odd. Maybe Japanese.
This one guy kept falling asleep. A drummer. Had a kind of ringo-style grin.
I just ran into a hysterical woman. Had several chewed up pencils in her hair, different colored socks and smelled like alcohol.
She totally flipped out and started yelling so everyone could hear. So embarassing.
Almost BROKE MY WRIST cause some dooshbag was running up the stairs looking THE OTHER way!!
OMG THAT GUFUS who nearly killed me on the stairs is the leader of my project group.
Life has its ironies. Turns out the hysterical woman I made a fool of myself in front of on the stairs is in my music school. Not only that, she is in my project group.
Our music project is led by composer and painist Pierre. I've heard he's amazing.
The french kid is the director and composer of our project. Maybe he isn't really French, but whatever.
There was some visible tension between him and this new girl, a violinist.
Our group leader, Pierre, is some kind of genius.
The music Pierre composed for the group is amazing, deep, disturbing.
First, pompous Pierreyboy gave us this endless monolgue on his composition.
Then he gives us this totally impossible to read piece, with like a million different rhythms. And expects us to just play it without ever HAVING HEARD it.
Then came the first reading. Or should I say loose interpretation. NO. Not in the mood for euphemisms.
It's just devastating. The hysterical violinist doesn't even know HOW to read music.
The drummer can't keep a steady beat. The pianist turns everything into jazz.
We have a long road ahead of us…
